New functions through FACT24 CIM release V.25.02

Anita Wilknitz Updated by Anita Wilknitz

We are happy to announce improvements with the following new features concerning FACT24 CIM. To provide you with a better overview, we have set up this article to give you a detailed description of the updates with screenshots. These functionalities will be available to you from 21st of August 2025 on.

Improvements for all FACT24 CIM Editions:

Situation Map

When an incident occurs, there is often a need to compare different stages of the incident as it evolves, to get a better overview.

The situation map can be used to create visual representations of incidents; a situational plot.

A situation plot consists of:

  • Custom Backgrounds: Use photographs, floorplans, or a map of an area affected by an incident
  • Dynamic Markers: Place, move, or remove markers, drawings, and flags to indicate key elements

The cursor’s location in the image for each stage of development can be are stored in snapshots that you can use to compare and see development.

Improved Incident Detail View

The incident detail view has been redesigned for better clarity and usability:

New Layout:

  • Left: Incident properties
  • Center: Incident log
  • Right: Map view

Key improvement:

The log is now visible not only for the active incident, but also for other incidents the user has access to.

This gives a more complete picture across incidents and supports faster situational understanding.

Log Subscription

It is now possible to enable email notifications when new log entries are registered in an incident.

This functionality provides improved situational awareness and timely updates, without requiring active use of the system.

Highlights:

  • Customizable Frequency: Choose between immediate, hourly, or daily email summaries
  • User-Controlled Settings: Enable or disable notifications anytime via the user settings menu
This feature is available to all users with access to the incident log.

Enhanced Search & Filter Experience

Previously, filters were applied through a separate dialog, and active filters were not clearly visible.

Thats why we’ve improved the search and filter functionality across all modules:

  • Always-visible Filters: Filters now appear directly above the list view
  • Visual Filter Chips: Active filters are shown as clear, clickable chips — making it easy to see, modify, or remove them at any time.

This provides a more intuitive and efficient user experience when navigating and refining large datasets

Report: Added option to fetch content from other report chapters

It is now possible to create report templates that include chapters from other templates.

This makes it easier to divide report writing responsibilities across units or roles.

Each unit can contribute content using their own assigned template, and a central editor can then compile a complete report by linking to selected chapters from those sources.

Benefits:

  • Ensures consistency
  • Reduces duplication of work
  • Improves collaboration during incident management

Categories in Incidents

The category feature - previously used in other modules - is now available in the incident module as well.

New capabilities:

  • Tag Incidents with Categories: In addition to fields like incident type and potential, you can now assign predefined categories to incidents.
  • Better Organization: Use categories to organize, filter, and report incidents more effectively across modules.
  • Workflow Alignment: Supports thematic grouping and better alignment with internal processes.
  • Central Configuration: Categories are configured centrally and can now be applied directly when registering or editing an incident
