Introduction

Introduction
FACT24 CIM Essential is a fully equipped system to prepare for emergencies, handle the initial phase and mobilizing for an incident - and at last handling the incident in real time.
CIM Essential is a integrated crisis and incident manager that can be accessed from anywhere on web through desktops, mobiles and tablets.
How to manage a crisis with CIM Essential
CIM Essential is built upon the idea of an crisis or an incident moving through three different phases, and is developed to serve solutions for handling this in the best way possible.
1. Prepare for crisis
CIM Essential has all the tools for everything you have to do before an incident, and to prepare for different emergencies. This includes templates and setup for:
- Action cards
- Incident types
- Incident phases
- Defining your Crisis management staff
- Incident potential
- Situation report and meeting templates
- Focus areas
- File archive - for storing emergency plans and documents
- Location points
- Case Manager - for direct interaction
2. Handling crisis
When an incident happens you have to put all your plans into action and alarm your staff. CIM Essential offers you an effective way to initialize the required actions:
- Register the incident
- Start the alarm and alert the right people.
During an ongoing incident CIM Essential is equipped with tools for real time actions:
- Action Cards: Execute actions that was prepared or move and register new actions.
- Incident Statistics: Get data extracted based on incidents, severity, location etc.
- Tasks: Delegate tasks to different users.
- Running log: Do manual and automatic entries.
- Closing of incident: End incidents and do evaluation reports with defined templates.
Work modes
There are two work modes: Normal mode and Exercise mode.
Normal mode is used for working with real incidents, and Exercise mode is used for training. It is also possible to switch between modes.
Each incident is associated with the work mode under which it was created, and is available only when you have logged on in that particular work mode. As a consequence, the current work mode poses restrictions on the content available in all incident-dependent modules.
