The CIM Essential interface consists of three main elements:

  • The System Menu bar:

The bar at the top of the screen, where you can see which Incident you are working on right now, which phase it is in and what potential damage it can do. To the right on the System bar, you will find the menu buttons:

    •  Case Manager
    •  User
    •  Administration
    •  Notifications
    •  Online Help
    •  Log out
  • The Menu list:

To the left you can find these menu items, depending on what role you have:

    •  Search in menu : Searches through all menu items and sub items.
    •  Start Page : Shows an overview of all registered incidents, a detail view of the selected incident and a map with the locations of the incidents.
    •  Incident Workspace : Here you can see all latest updates on the active incident and perform actions.
    •  Boards : All modules can be found here.
    •  Tasks : Here you can see tasks assigned to you and their statuses (staff). If you are a Crisis manager or Admin, you can add, edit and assign tasks from here.
    •  Admin : Only available for admin users. Gives access to:
      • Admin workspace
      • Pre-defined action cards
      • Report templates
      • Status Meetings templates
      • File archive
      • Location
  • The workspace window:

Shows the content of the respective menu item that is chosen in the menu list to the left.

The current incident

In the upper left corner of the workspace window screen, there is information about the incident you are currently working with. Click the name of the Incident to see more information and perform actions:

  • EXCERCISE or NORMAL: In front of the Incident title you will see if this is an incident connected to an Excercise or if it is a real Incident (Normal).
  • Click this to edit the information about the Incident.
  •  Register new incident : Fill in the information needed about the new Incident. Not for CIM Staff users.
  •  Switch incident : Click this to get a list over every registered Incident that are still active. Click the one you want to work with.
  • Switch mode: The only place where you can change mode is located in the Switch incident window. Click SWITCH MODE to leave the mode you are in at the moment (EXCERCISE or NORMAL). You have to be in the mode that the wanted incident was registered in, for it to be visible in the list.
